5 Digital Mistakes Your Dental Practice Is Making
From a neglected Google profile to never following up on treatment plans: the most common mistakes that empty a practice’s schedule.

Your practice may have the best technology and the best clinical team, but if your digital presence falls short, patients will never get the chance to find out. These are the five mistakes we see most often in our audits.
1. An incomplete Google Business Profile
Outdated hours, few photos and unanswered reviews. For a new patient, your Google listing is your first front desk. Treat it that way.
2. Only answering messages during office hours
Many patients message at night, when they finally have time. If the reply arrives the next morning, chances are they’ve already booked somewhere else.
3. Not sending automatic reminders
Every no-show is a slot you can’t get back. One reminder 48 hours ahead and another the same day, with the option to confirm or reschedule, dramatically reduces missed appointments.
4. Forgetting about unaccepted treatment plans
An orthodontics or implant treatment plan that never gets a follow-up is money left on the table. A respectful, automated follow-up sequence can recover a meaningful share of those treatments.
5. Posting generic content
Stock photos of perfect teeth don’t build trust. Your team, your office, real cases (with consent) and answers to common questions do — and they also help you rank on Google.
